Jon Crespo Quartet at Black Mountain Jazz, Melville Theatre
On the last Sunday of August, I photographed the Jon Crespo Quartet at the Melville Theatre in Abergavenny, as part of Black Mountain Jazz’s regular programme.
It was a fantastic evening of live music. The Quartet delivered a strong, engaging performance that the audience really enjoyed — the atmosphere in the room said it all.
From a photography point of view, I focused on capturing expressions, hand movements, and those small details that show the energy of the music. The lighting was a little unpredictable, but that’s part of the fun of live event photography — adapting quickly and finding ways to bring out the mood on stage.
